The project involved the subterranean extension and remodelling of a mews house and its courtyard in Holland Park.
We worked closely with acoustic consultants, Sandy Brown, and specialist acoustic suppliers, Total Vibration Solutions, to come up with a workable, effective and economic solution.
The mews was essentially reconstructed with steel framing, and included an interesting staircase that cantilevered off the steel framed side walls.
Traditional underpinning was used, however due to the proximity of the Central Line tunnels, additional measures were taken to isolate the new construction from potential vibration and noise.
