The project consists of the demolition of the existing building on the site and erection of a seven storey reinforced concrete frame building to provide 265m2 of retail floor space at ground level and fifteen residential apartments above ground. The structure is an RC frame with flat slabs supported by thin shear walls that avoid inset columns and downstand beams. The frame is formed off a piled raft that efficiently distributes the superstructure loads across the piles and avoids more time-consuming and costly caps and beams clad in masonry the slender RC Frame provides  generous floor-to-ceiling height and large panorama window while a large terrace to the rear offers external space for the residents.
