BROOKSHILL, MIDDLESEX, HA3

Brookshill is located in Harrow, in the north west of London, approximately 6km south of Watford and 3.5km to the west of M1 junction 4. The site was occupied by a single residential building which has been demolished as part of the development  proposals, as it had fallen into to severe disrepair having been left unoccupied for approximately 60 years. Also on the site are a coach house with attached stable block and gardeners cottage which are to be kept and sympathetically renovated due to their local listing. Under the current proposals, in the place of the existing building, a new apartment block containing seven apartments over four floors from lower ground to second will be constructed.

The structure will be predominantly load bearing masonry walls and precast concrete plank floors supported on RC ground beams on piled foundations. The renovation works to the coach house, stable block and gardeners cottage will be extensive due to the current poor condition of the buildings; works will include upgrading the existing foundations, underpinning using mini-piling techniques, new ground floors, injection damp proofing, replacing timber joists and rafters forming new openings
