The University of Greenwich now has a major campus within the newly established Maritime Greenwich World Heritage site, centred on three of the historic buildings formerly used by the Royal Naval College. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren the Royal Naval College and Naval Hospital buildings at Greenwich have now been completely restored and adapted for university use.

The nature and physical condition of all main structural elements was investigated, assessed and repaired where necessary. Spaces were opened out and strengthened unobtrusively to provide large modern lecture theatres, spacious computer laboratories and smaller teaching rooms. Throughout, the team worked with English Heritage to ensure that any necessary structural interventions were discreet and sensitive to the historic importance of the buildings.

Each phase of the work was completed to a tight programme and the campus now accommodates up to 8000 students. It has become the headquarters of the University.
