A development
of 65 houses, flats and maisonettes arranged in three blocks
of between two and six stories on a restricted site in central
London.
The main structure is in light gauge steel. The building facades
include a terracotta cladding system which is supported in prefabricated
aluminium frames, expressed hot rolled structural steel sections
and cantilevering balconies. The bathrooms are fitted out in
complete prefabricated modules.

of Merit, Structural Steel Design Awards 2004.

development, introduce innovative construction and a high level
of prefabrication."which are integrated into
the structure of the building.

construction process was innovative. For the first time in the
UK, the process brought together three off-site fabrication processes
into one scheme. With steel load bearing systems, steel panels
and prefabricated bathrooms, construction was entirely dry except
for ground works. Energy efficiency and thermal and sound insulation
all exceed current standards."
